Tbis is my first laptop and I'd heard so much about overheating. I bought this because I don't have to worry about a fan connection breaking off at my port. Also uses no memory!
The reason this is a four star is that it tends to slide sometimes if my work surface is slanted. Straight surfaces are excellent. |

I don't know about a lot of other laptops, but the macbook series has a decent fan- if the surface that it's sitting on doesn't get too hot. I didn't need some fancy, bonus fan that plugs into the computer, I just needed something to put a little space between my workspace and the macbook.
Mission Accomplished. |

It's okay. I bought this largely to raise the laptop screen up a bit and it does that. It's up about an inch which does make a difference.
My laptop fan in on the bottom of the computer at the far left, so I have to use this little stand pushed to the right of the computer bottom to keep the fan exposed. My computer still gets hot so I'm not sure that this little stand helps much with that, but if you prefer a slightly elevated keyboard and/or laptop screen then this will do that for you.
